She’s earned diamond certification for her 2017 hit “Havana” and according to the Record Industry Association of America, she’s the first Hispanic female singer to do so.

What exactly is diamond certification? It’s an honour that only goes to those who’ve moved at least 10 million units of a song by combining sales and streaming numbers.
In a message posted on Insta, Camila says she’s honoured and hopes “this paves the way for many more incredible Latinx artists.”
There are only 62 diamond-certified singles in total including “Despacito” by Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga.
Cardi B, who also has Hispanic heritage, received diamond certification earlier this year for “Bodak Yellow” making her the first female rapper to receive the honour.

“Havana” was one of the first singles Camila released after leaving Fifth Harmony and has won numerous awards including Favourite Pop Song at the American Music Awards in 2018 and Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs.
And now she can add diamond certification to the list!
