Ellen Pompeo has taken home the Female TV Star of the Year at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards!
During her speech, the Grey’s Anatomy star who has played Dr. Meredith Grey on the hit show for 19 seasons, described the powerful impact of what we see on TV:
“On my way up to the stage, a nice guy named Zack just said to me, ‘You brought me and my mum closer together.’ I hear stories like that every day and everywhere I go. And I think we all know that that’s the power of storytelling. It brings us together and our stories wouldn’t matter if they weren’t touching all of you. You are the reason we do it.”
Ellen adds, “we do have one of the greatest jobs in the world. And we wouldn’t be able to do it without your love and support.”
She was joined at the event by her Grey’s cast mates including Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr. and Caterina Scorsone.
Stranger Things’ actor Noah Schnapp was named the Male TV Star of the Year while Lizzo was named the People’s Champion.
