Glen Powell Inducted into Texas Film Hall of Fame (& Hilariously Trolled By His Parents!)

Glen Powell has been inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame – and his parents are making sure he stays humble about it!

The Austin-born actor who has starred in countless movies including Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You was honoured for his significant contributions to the Texas film industry. The celebrations took place during the premiere of his newest project, Netflix film Hit Man. Glen’s parents, Cyndy and Glen Sr., walked the carpet with their son and while they were posing for pics, held up some rather hilarious signs:

Cyndy’s read “Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen” while Glen Sr.’s read “It’s never gonna happen.”

Well, it certainly did happen! Since his days in Spy Kids back in 2003 to becoming a hall-of-famer, Glen has certainly established himself as one of the most recognised names in Hollywood.

But don’t worry, the 35-year-old actor wasn’t fussed at all by his parents shenanigans. In fact, he had a huge smile on his face and appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the moment! Plus, it seems that poking fun at each other might be a bit of a thing in the Powell household. You might remember earlier in the year, Glen told E! News his mum sometimes calls him a “little douchey” when it comes to fashion choices. Reposting the article on social media, Glen asked his X followers if anyone had “any good nursing home recommendations?”

During the Hit Man premiere, Glen was also joined by his co-stars Adria Arjona, Sanjay Rao, Molly Bernard and director Richard Linklater. The film is due out on Netflix from June 7.
