It’s a special day for Kelly Clarkson!
The singer and talk-show host has received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 20 years on from winning the inaugural season of American Idol.
“This is where I won 20 years ago,” Kelly said at the ceremony.
“I feel very lucky and fortunate because I know a lot of talented people that love singing and are amazing at it and writing songs, and even talk show hosts — a lot of people could do that, and I just feel very fortunate that I get the chance. There are dreams you didn’t know you had and they end up happening and you feel super blessed.”
Kelly was joined by her kids, River and Remington, plus Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, the three judges from Idol when Kelly appeared on the show back in 2002.
Celebrating the special day on Instagram, Kelly captioned a photo of herself kneeling beside her star: “By the way, my star is between Harry Potter and Deadpool ….I dare anyone to top that!”
Earlier, Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, shared a statement describing Kelly as “an iconic person in American pop culture” who ” has continued to impress fans with her musical and talk show prowess.
Her star is the 2,733rd on the famous boulevard.
