Lizzo Urges Fans to Vote Against Oppression During VMAs Acceptance Speech

Lizzo has won her very first Moon Person at the MTV Video Music Awards!

The superstar who was nominated for five awards, won the Video For Good category for her hit single ‘About Damn Time’ and used the opportunity to urge her fans to care about voting during political elections as they do for entertainment awards.

“I don’t know what ‘Video For Good’ means, but I do know what your vote means, and that’s a f***ing lot,” Lizzo said on stage.

“Your vote means everything to me. It means everything to making a change in this country. So remember when you’re voting for your favourite artist, vote to change some of these laws that are oppressing us.”

She went on to thank her fans for their support before powerfully addressing the “b****es who have something to say about me in the press.”
