Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” is making a little history!
The iconic Christmas song is the first holiday single to ever receive Diamond Certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.
What does that mean exactly? It means the song has been sold or streamed 10 million times – which is no surprise really, because let’s face it, is there a better Christmas song? *Checks notes* No, no there isn’t.

“The continued love for my song never ceases to amaze me and fills my heart with a multitude of emotions,” Mariah said in a statement as per People.
“It blows my mind that ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ has endured different eras of the music industry. The RIAA DIAMOND award?! Wowww! I’m so fortunate to have the greatest fans on Earth, my Lambily, who continue to support my legacy. I love you. ”

Mariah also took to social media to celebrate the news:
“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” she captioned a photo of herself holding a Diamond Award.

This isn’t the first time Mariah has received Diamond certification for her music. Her 1993 album Music Box and her 1995 album Daydream are both also Diamond certified.
