From Hannah Montana to GRAMMY-winning artist – Miley Cyrus has just picked up her first-ever GRAMMY award! Hold that thought, her first TWO, in fact!
*insert loud cheers*
The superstar received the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for her 2023 smash hit ‘Flowers’ from music icon Mariah Carey. Taking to the stage, Miley hilariously explained she almost missed the award:
“This M.C. is gonna stand by this M.C. for this, because this is just too iconic!” she began, referring to their initials.
“Oh my god, I just got stuck in the rain in traffic and thought I was going to miss this moment. I could miss the award… but I can’t miss Mariah Carey!”
Miley has received eight GRAMMY nominations throughout her career, including five other nominations at the 2024 GRAMMYs: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Later during the evening, she took to the stage in a glittering silver outfit to perform ‘Flowers’ where, mid-song, she proudly screamed, “I just won my first GRAMMY!”
