Rita Ora Receives Prestigious Award from the President of Albania

Rita Ora has received a very special award from Albanian President Bajram Begaj.

Together with her dad Nick, the singer recently visited the Pallati i Brigatave  – aka the presidential palace in Albania – where she was honoured with the prestigious ‘Naim Frashëri’ recognising her contribution to the arts.

“There are some things in life you never forget,” Rita shared with her 16.1 million Instagram followers afterwards, along with a series of photos from the day.

“This trip will be one of them. Today has been an unreal day. I had the great honour of being awarded the Naim Frashëri, order by the President of Albania, Mr Bajram Begaj. This is something awarded to Albanians and foreign citizens for their valuable works and activities in science, art and culture. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.”

During her visit, Rita also stopped by UNICEF’s House of Colours in Tirana which offers emergency shelter and services to children and their families.

“The team here treat the most vulnerable children with care, provide them with safety, shelter, education, and a possibility for long term assistance,” Rita explains.

“The work they do here is truly incredible and invaluable and I felt really privileged to meet the team and spend time with these amazing children.”

According to UNICEF, the centre has provided services to around 4,000 children affected by domestic violence, poverty, human trafficking and more since 2011.
