Sofía Jirau Shares Her Joy in Becoming First Victoria’s Secret Model with Down Syndrome

Puerto Rican model Sofîa Jírau is making history!

She’s scored a gig with Victoria’s Secret making her the first model with Down Syndrome to represent the lingerie brand.

Sharing the news to her more than 200,000 Insta followers, Sofîa thanked them for all their support so far and described her new role as “a dream come true.”

“One day I dreamed of it, I worked for it and today it is a dream come true.”

Sofîa is one of 17 women including Adut Akech, Valentina Sampaio and Hailey Beiber, chosen to take part in the brand’s new Love Cloud collection, which Victoria’s Secret says reinforces their “commitment to welcoming and celebrating all women.” (You might remember they’ve been under a bit of scrutiny lately for their lack of diversity when it comes to their models.)

The 25-year-old online fashion entrepreneur began modelling in 2019 when she made her debut at New York Fashion Week.

We can’t wait to see more of Sofîa in the spotlight!
