It’s been a huge night for Taylor Swift at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards….
Not only has she picked up Video of the Year for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) but she’s also delighted fans with the news she’s releasing new music!
“I am so honoured to have been recognised alongside such amazing artists and directors in this category,” Taylor begins.
“I just want to say I’m so heartened by the fact that for the first time in VMA history, four of the directors nominated in the Video of the Year category are women.”
She goes to share how proud she is of “what we made” and thanks her fans for their constant support. “I wouldn’t be able to re-record my albums if it weren’t for you… You emboldened me to do that.”
And it’s at this point she drops the bombshell that there’s another album on the way.
“I had sort of made up my mind that it might be a fun moment to tell you, my brand new album comes out October 21st. And I will tell you more at midnight.”
After her announcement on stage, Taylor took to social media to reveal a few more details:
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the close strikes twelve, we’ll meet ourselves.”
She adds: “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life will be out October 21.”
