Taylor Swift Becomes First Woman to Reach 100 Million Monthly Spotify Listeners

Taylor Swift is making history once again – she’s become the first woman to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify!

100 million! This is certainly a big deal, and you bet we’re cheering her on!

Ok, enough exclamation points. Let’s break this down.

The music streaming platform announced the news on social media today, writing “Queen behaviour. On August 29th, Taylor Swift became the first female artist in Spotify history to reach 100 million monthly listeners.”

For context, Spotify has been around since 2006 – that’s 17 years.

As of today, Taylor is officially ranked second overall in terms of monthly listeners behind The Weeknd who has 110 million. In 3rd place is Bad Bunny with 80 million, followed by Ed Sheeran with 77 million. Also in the top 10 are Dua Lipa, Drake, Rihanna, Travis Scott, David Guetta and Billie Eilish.

Taylor, who is currently in Mexico for her Eras Tour, has been breaking many, many records over the past six months.

In November 2022, she became the first artist, male or female, to claim the entire top 10 on the Billboard 100! You can thank her Midnights album for that one.

A few months later, she broke the record for the most No. 1 albums by a female artist on the Billboard 200 after Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was released.

After that she became the first living artist in almost 60 years to have 4 albums charting in the top 10 simultaneously.

Add to that the Federal Reserve crediting her Eras Tour with boosting the U.S. economy too? Yep, Queen behaviour, indeed.
