She’s an actress. A singer. A model. A film producer. An entrepreneur. And a philanthropist. She has 61.1 million followers on Instagram and 27.1 million followers on Twitter. And she’s one of the most well-known people on the planet.
And yet one entertainment reporter didn’t think Priyanka Chopra Jonas or her famous other half, Nick Jonas, were qualified enough to be “announcing Oscar nominees” this week.
To use said reporter’s words, “I’m not sure their contribution to the movies qualifies them…”
Obviously, he (who won’t be named in this post because he’s already being annihilated for his comment online) is entitled to his opinion.
But we are talking about Priyanka and Nick Jonas here!
And yes, Priyanka did set the reporter straight.
In a post on Twitter, the star gracefully replied, “Would love your thoughts on what qualifies someone. Here are my 60+ film credentials for your adept consideration.”
She attached a recording of her scrolling through her IMDB movie credits, and yeah, it was a long, long list that included Baywatch, Isn’t It Romantic, Quantico, The Matrix 4 and Bollywood films galore.

Mr Reporter – who had to set his Twitter to private after being bombarded by messages from outraged Priyanka and Nick fans – responded to her tweet:
“I agree her credits are very extensive and I was not fully aware of that.”
But he’s sticking by his original opinion: “The contribution to Hollywood is minimal. Still no clarification on what her husband’s contribution is.”
Umm…according to IMDB, that would be 79 film and TV credits for Nick including Jumani: The Next Level and Welcome to the Jungle, Kingdom, Scream Queens and Hawaii Five-O. Pretty extensive, no?
“These are the Oscars,” Mr Reporter added. “This isn’t personal – she’s a very successful and astute woman.”
Yes she is. And graceful in taking criticism too!
