A photo of Keanu Reeves looking serious at a red carpet event. His hair is shoulder length and he has a moustache and beard. He wears a grey suit, shirt and tie. Next to his photo is a graphic from his new comic book series BRZRKR. It shows an image of a serious looking man with shoulder-length hair blowing across his face. He has a moustache and beard, and some blood splattered on him.

BRZRKR: Keanu Reeves’ First Comic Book Is Coming

Hollywood star and philanthropist Keanu Reeves is about to see one of his childhood dreams come true – his first comic book, in print!

BRZRKR, coming in February 2021, is an action-packed, graphic series about a man (named Bezerker) who is half-mortal and half-God, cursed with a desire to commit violence. He’s wandered the world for centuries trying to find out why he is the way he is and end his blood-soaked existence.

And yep, he looks just like Keanu. Maybe a little more rough…and blood-splattered:

“BRZRKR’s got everything that you want from a comic book,” the actor says in a Kickstarter video for publisher, BOOM! Studios.

“It’s got great drawings, colours, a great story. It’s got action, has a little romance and it’s about something.”

That something being Bezerker’s deal with the U.S. Government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else in exchange for information about his existence.

Co-written with Matt Kindt and spectacularly illustrated by Ron Garney, BRZRKR is full of blood, gore and violence – but also purpose:

“He understands the cost of it. He finds life precious even after all this time,” Keanu explains.

BOOM! Studios founder Ross Richie is sharing a first look inside the comic book today – and it’s good! Swipe to see:

So how did all of this come about? Sounds pretty simple really….

“I was like, well I used to collect and I love comic books. And they were like, so did you ever want to make a comic book? And I was like, YEAH!” Keanu says.

Over 14,000 people from around the world have pledged more than $1.4 million to make this happen. According to their Kickstarter page, we can expect 12 comic books in total which will come in 3 volumes.

Late backers for the project are still being accepted with special hardcover editions on offer. Click HERE to learn more or preorder your copy.
