The Adam Project’s Walker Scobell has a major new gig!
He’s been cast as Percy Jackson – yes the demigod son of mortal Sally Jackson and Greek god Poseidon – in the upcoming Disney+ series, A Rising Star.
Rick Riordan, author of the highly successful fantasy novel series on which the show is based, revealed the news in a lengthy message on his website and boy, did he have a lot of good things to say about Walker’s incredible skill and talent:
“Many of you recently discovered how great Walker is when you watched his movie The Adam Project, in which Walker lit up the screen as a younger version of Ryan Reynolds’ character,” Riordan writes.
“We were fortunate enough to audition Walker months before that movie came out, but the film only confirmed what we already knew about his talent. It was obvious to me and the rest of the team that Walker had the perfect mix of comedic timing, sweetness, rebelliousness, snark and heroism to embody our hero Percy Jackson.”
Riordan goes on to explain that while he was able to tell Walker the good news back in January during a Zoom call, the actors who’ll star as Annabeth and Grover are yet to be finalised.
