Harry Styles is using his platform to support gun safety across the U.S.
The superstar has announced he’s donating proceeds from his upcoming Love On Tour to nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety with concert producer Live Nation also contributing. Together, the funds are expected to total over $1 million (as per Live Nation).
“Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at the latest in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas,” Harry shared in a post on Instagram, referring to the horrific deaths of 21 innocent people at the school this week, including 19 children.
“On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts and sharing their suggested action items.”
Everytown for Gun Safety is the largest gun violence prevention organisation in America. They work to support survivors of gun violence, carry out research and organise movements demanding action from elected officials. (You can check out some of the important gun safety changes they’ve helped establish HERE.)
Harry’s post also highlighted a statistic from Everytown Research & Policy: “Firearms are the #1 leading cause of death of American children and teens.”
