The Beautiful Reason Why Travis Van Winkle Wants You To Give Up Your Coffee Money For His Birthday

You actor Travis Van Winkle is celebrating his 39th trip around the sun and to mark the occasion, he’s asking his fans to take part in his special day.

The birthday boy is urging us to consider donating our coffee money to buildOn, a nonprofit he’s supporting that’s working to end the cycle of poverty through service and education across the US and beyond.

In fact, the coffee money would specifically go towards building a school in Senegal.

“Materials and supplies for this school in Senegal cost $35,000,” Travis – who is a Global Ambassador for the organisation – explains in a video posted to his socials.

“So forego your latte today. Don’t go to Starbucks. Instead, donate five bucks, seven bucks, ten bucks …and help me and buildOn build this school in Senegal. It’ll be my second school there.”

And it’s his eighth project overall with buildOn. That’s right, he’s already built *checks notes* seven other schools around the world!

Travis adds that he’ll be travelling over there once the funds are raised to help community members build the structure.

“Education is one of those things… it can break the cycles of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations.”

Over 2100 schools have been built around the world through buildOn’s programs so far, supporting the education of over 300,000 children and adults.
