“Cherish What You Have”: Cara Delevingne’s L.A. Home Engulfed by Fire

Cara Delevingne is urging everyone to “cherish what you have” after her Los Angeles home was destroyed by a fire.

The actor and model was in London when the incident occurred in Studio City. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, 94 firefighters spent two hours attempting to put out the blaze. The flames were mostly at the back of the home causing the roof to collapse, and one person staying there sustained minor smoke inhalation. One firefighter was also taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

“Crews confirmed all occupants were out of the home, and then pulled back into defensive mode due to the long duration of heavy fire exposing the structural members,” LA Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.

Cara took to her Instagram stories to share the news and to express her gratitude for the many people who responded to the emergency situation: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the firefighters and people that have showed up to help.”

She also shared a photo of her two cats writing, “My heart is broken today. I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye so cherish what you have.”

The post seemed to imply that perhaps her cats had been lost in the fire however Cara clarified in a later story that “they are alive!!”

Footage of the fire shows widespread damage

The fire department is still investigating what caused the blaze.
