Harry Styles Pauses Concert to Thank His School Teacher

Harry Styles has taken a moment mid-concert to thank one of his old school teachers!

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer paused his performance in Manchester, England on Thursday night and asked the audience to help find Ann Vernon, his “first-ever school teacher.”

Videos shared on social media show Harry telling the crowd: “So, we’re going to get really quiet and I’m going to see if I can locate this person if you don’t mind helping me. Ok? Because, my first ever school teacher is here tonight. Her name’s Mrs Vernon and I believe she’s in the crowd.”

Harry is seen looking through the crowd and joking “You’re not Mrs Vernon” ….until he thinks he does spot her. A video shared by TikTok user GoodiesbyJen then shows Harry dropping down to his knees in gratitude and excitement.

“I’d just like to thank you for everything in those formative years and yeah, thank you so much. It means a lot to me that you’re here tonight.” – Unfortunately, according to the BBC, it wasn’t actually Mrs Vernon in the audience but another teacher from Hermitage Primary, Mrs Bailey, who was Harry’s teacher in Year 1!

“Can you imagine dealing with me when I was 4?” Harry added before continuing the show.

And while Mrs Vernon wasn’t there for the live shoutout, she did hear about it, telling the BBC “it was very touching.”
