Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has revealed that he and his family have been dealing with coronavirus over the last three weeks.

The Hollywood star, entrepreneur and philanthropist announced the news in an 11-minute video posted to Instagram:

“My wife Lauren as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for COVID-19,” he says.

“I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we’ve ever had to endure as a family. (And) I’ve gone through some doozies in the past. I’ve got my ass kicked with some challenges in the past but testing positive for COVID-19 is much different than overcoming nasty injuries or being evicted or even being broke, which I have been more than a few times.”

He continues to explain they caught the virus from close family friends who came to visit and that his friends felt “devastated” they had passed on the virus.

And while his daughters, 4-year-old Jasmine and 2-year-old Tiana only experienced a mild cough, it was much worse for Lauren and himself.

“We are counting our blessings right now because we’re well aware it isn’t always the case you get on the other end stronger and healthier,” he says.

“I have had some of my best friends who have lost their parents and loved ones to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving.”

He urges his followers to “control the controllables” by eating well, boosting their immunity, wearing a mask …and being more strict about who comes to visit.
