Sir Elton John is doing well after he fell over at his home in the South of France and was admitted to hospital.
A spokesperson for the 76-year-old music legend shared the update with BBC News, following reports Sir Elton had spent the night at the Princess Grace hospital centre in Monaco. He was admitted to the orthopaedic department:
“Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure. Following check-ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”
No further details have been shared.

Sir Elton is currently spending the summer in France with his family after finishing up his epic Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. The 5-time Grammy winner originally kicked off the tour in 2018, planning for it to end in 2021 but of course, the pandemic hit and postponed many of his shows.
According to a video shared on his official Instagram page, the tour which ended in July and marked the end of Sir Elton’s journey as a touring artist, featured more than 300 shows with over 6 million fans across the world watching him perform.
“What a journey this tour has been and now we find ourselves at the end of it,” he captioned the clip on Instagram.
Fortunately, we may still have the chance to see the music icon perform in the future. In 2020, he told Rolling Stone that some one-off shows or a residency could be on the cards!
