Jamie Foxx Health Update: He’s Out of Hospital & Recovering

The family of Jamie Foxx has shared an update about the actor’s health.

The 55-year-old Oscar winner who was recently in hospital for a “medical complication” is now recovering well, despite media headlines claiming otherwise. (One of them claimed his family was “preparing for the worst.” This was then picked up by multiple news outlets, understandably creating a Twitter-storm of concern! The hashtag #PrayersForJamie even started trending. We won’t be sharing the link to the article here because there’s no need to send more traffic their way – but it’s easily searchable on Google.)

“Sad to see how the media runs wild,” the statement shared by Jamie’s daughter, actor Corinne Foxx, on her Instagram stories reads. “My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support.”

She adds, “we have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

Jamie had been taken to hospital while filming Netflix comedy Back in Action with Cameron Diaz in April. Corinne shared at the time that her dad had experienced a medical complication, though didn’t explain what that was exactly (nor is it any of our business, really).

“Luckily due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she posted.

It’s unclear whether filming continued with Jamie absent. The movie, directed by Seth Gordon, is expected to be released in 2024. The action-comedy also stars Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler and Andrew Scott.

Jamie is also due to be seen alongside John Boyega in the sci-fi comedy They Cloned Tyrone which is due out in June.

Reps for the actor haven’t shared any statements or further updates about his health.
