Jeremy Renner has undergone surgery and remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
His representatives have shared an update with Deadline after the Marvel actor was involved in a snow ploughing accident on New Year’s Day at his property in Reno, Nevada:
“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd, 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in a critical but stable condition.”
The statement goes on to share a message from the actor’s family, thanking local authorities:
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
According to a news release shared by Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Jeremy was transported “via care flight to a local area hospital” following the accident.
The Office’s Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into what happened – no further details have been shared at this stage.
