Selena Gomez has shared a photo of her kidney transplant scar for the first time since her operation in 2017.
The superstar posted a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a one-piece bathing suit (which happens to be named after her) by new label La’Mariette, revealing the scar on her inner thigh.
“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar,” she writes.
“I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that.”

Selena had the transplant as part of her fight against lupus, an autoimmune disease that was attacking her kidneys.
It was her good friend and Grown-ish actress Francia Raisa who donated the kidney.
