Students across the U.S. are preparing to head back to school soon and Serena Williams is doing her part to make sure they can return safely.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, entrepreneur and mum has partnered with eco-friendly T-shirt company Bella + Canvas as well as Scholastic and the National School Board Association to provide face masks to schools in need.

The #MasksForKids program will see over 4 million masks delivered to students plus educational materials about masks to 115,000 schools across the country.

“I’m grateful to be able to help educate our schools about this resource and to be given the opportunity to serve so many students,” Serena says in a post on her socials.

Bella + Canvas will also donate a mask for each one purchased by schools.

America’s Centre for Disease Control recommends face coverings are worn by students and teachers especially when physical distancing may be difficult.
