Shakira and JLo have brought the house down – and the internet too – during their performance at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Not just because Jennifer Lopez can hit those notes so powerfully while swinging on a pole at the same time…
Not just because Shakira can shake her hips and sing and play the drums like the wild rocker we all wish we could be…
Not just because they have an energy that is so out-of-this world and so contagious that it makes us all believe we could totally shake our booties too…

Not just because they’re the first Latin artists to co-headline one of the most watched events in America…
But because they used this massive platform they were given today to celebrate and uplift the Latin community, at a time when so many are being detained at the border, ripped apart from their families and deported.
Their entire performance was a nod to the beautiful, diverse Latin heritage of the United States: from their Spanish-language songs, their dance moves from Shakira’s hometown of Baranquilla and their special guests including Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and reggaeton star J Balvin to that moment Jenny from the block took to the stage wearing a giant flag of Puerto Rico.
And then there was that part when the stage lit up with glowing cages – inside them, young Latin kids singing “Born in the U.S.A.”

Yep, I think you showed them Jenny and Shak! Watch their epic performance in full below:
