R&B singer Omarion is addressing the jokes going around about his name and the latest variant of the COVID-19 virus…

Yeah, you know the one. That thing called Omicron wreaking havoc across the world right now?

Well, in a rather good-natured and hilarious series of videos posted to TikTok, Omarion calmly clarifies that he is “an artist, not a variant.”

“So please be aware that if you just so happen to run into me on the street, you don’t have to isolate for five days, nor do you have to have a negative test result in order to dance to my music.”

“While it’s important not to touch me and keep your distance, cause you know that’s how it’s supposed to be, you don’t need a negative test to dance to my music,” he says in another video featuring his 2005 hit “Touch.”

“The last time I had to do this was in 2000 when everyone confused Y2K with B2K,” he jokes, referencing his old boy band.

“That ain’t how it’s supposed to be, but seriously, I want to wish you all a happy and safe New Year’s. Peace.”
