Mattel Releases ‘Ted Lasso’ Barbie Collection

Mattel has just released its most wholesome set of Barbies yet – the Ted Lasso collection!

Based on the 11-time Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series starring Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple, the dolls portray Coach Lasso himself, along with powerhouses Rebecca Welton and Keeley Jones.

The Ted doll is dressed in an AFC Richmond tracksuit, of course, complete with aviators, a whistle around his neck, and a football in one arm. He also comes in commemorative packaging which looks much like Richmond’s locker room with a yellow “BELIEVE” sign and Nate’s suggestion box!

The Rebecca doll is in her signature boss attire – a satin top with a bow, black pants and a handbag. And the Keeley doll wears a hot pink dress with a faux fur shawl.

The hit series, which premiered during the pandemic in 2020, follows the story of an American coach who is hired to manage a British football team. Sure, it’s won a bunch of awards including two Best Actor Golden Globes for Jason Sudeikis, but it’s also won hearts around the world tackling topics such as mental health, friendship, teamwork and forgiveness. (In fact, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai is a big-time fan!)

The series also stars Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, Toheeb Jimoh, Nick Mohammad and Brendan Hunt. (No Barbie dolls for them just yet…)

The release of the Ted Lasso collection follows the launch of the Mojo Dojo Ken, and the many collectible Barbies from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie which came out in July this year.

Where can you buy the Ted Lasso Barbie collection?

Within hours of announcing the release, the dolls sold out on Mattel Creation’s website but you can still get your hands on one through Amazon.com!
