Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Donate to Help British Columbia Communities Impacted by Flooding

Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds are doing what they can to support the people of British Columbia who’ve been devastated by recent flooding and are expecting even more heavy rain in the days to come.

In a message posted to Twitter, Ryan shares they’ve made a donation to the Canadian Red Cross who are providing humanitarian assistance on the ground.

“My home of BC continues to face a crisis from the brutal #BCFloods,” the Vancouver-born actor and philanthropist writes, posting a photo of the devastation.

“Homes, farms, schools, roads and vulnerable communities. Rebuilding will take time,” he continues before asking fans to consider making a donation too.

“Thank you for your support & contribution to help communities impacted by flooding,” the organisation responded in an Instagram story.

On their donation page, the organisation explains: “The Canadian Red Cross is working to get help to people in and around affected areas as quickly as possibly and provide humanitarian assistance for new needs as they arise. Money raised will enable the Red Cross to carry out relief, recovery, resilience and risk reduction activities in and beyond the region at the individual and community levels.”

The Red Cross has also announced, any donations made to the B.C. Floods & Extreme Weather Appeal will be matched by the George Hutchison Family Foundation, a charitable organisation set up in memory of the late accountant and investor.
