Celebrity nail artist Kimmie Kyees rallied some friends together to donate blood over the weekend, as a special present for her good friend Chrissy Teigen who experienced pregnancy loss.
In a message posted to Instagram, Kimmie explains that she, along with six friends, donated 7 pints of blood to replace the 7 pints Chrissy was given while she was in hospital, “in honour of baby Jack.”
And yep, we’re totally crying.
It’s a gesture so beautiful and so meaningful, that others are being inspired by to do the same.

“I learned a lot about the process but most importantly, I was told the blood supplies are low due to the pandemic. They have not been able to collect like they used to especially here in Los Angeles,” Kimmie writes urging her 84,000 followers to consider donating too.
Moved to tears by the special present, Chrissy Teigen responded on socials with a post explaining how grateful she is for the love she’s receiving: “Ok, I tried writing this 4 times but the tears were too much. Here we go again, with my heart full of warmth and happiness.”
She shared a collage of photos sent to her by Kimmie which showed friends attending a blood drive on Halloween.
“Phewwwwww the tears,” Chrissy continued.
“I’m overwhelmed by our circle of friends. The love I feel for each and every person in our circle actually makes me ache,” she added before specifically thanking Kimmie.
“I’ve known you for so many years now. You know every story, you hear every life gripe, you’re amazing at what you do but the way you treat my kids and family is cherished always. To do something like this for baby Jack is just…I dunno. Beautiful.”
A number of people commented that after reading about Kimmie’s kind gesture, they decided to make an appointment at their local blood collection centre too.
“You’ve inspired me! I’m at The Red Cross in Santa Monica donating at this moment!” wrote one follower.
“I haven’t given blood since high school! So inspired by you and your amazing friends. Just made my appointment for this week. In honour of Baby Jack,” wrote another.
In a follow-up post, Kimmie shares her appreciation for all those who are doing their bit to also honour Chrissy’s late son: “Baby Jack is inspiring people to save others…I’m so grateful for my amazing friends and their willingness to do this for Chrissy and her family. Paying it forward is everything!!! My heart is so happy!”
So is ours, Kimmie. So is ours.
