Naomi Watts Gets McHappy For Sick Children And Their Families

“As a mum, I couldn’t imagine being apart from my kids if they were sick or injured.” – Naomi Watts

You know what? Neither can we, Naomi!

No one should have to be apart from their child in hospital. But unfortunately, it does happen. It might be because home is hours and hours away from hospital. It might be because there are other siblings to look after. There are so many reasons. And that’s why Naomi is lending her support to McHappy Day this year.

As Ambassador for the event, she’s urging us all to dig deep, head to our local Maccas and help support seriously ill children and their families. (Yes, today is the day to have your cheat meal folks!) All the funds raised go towards Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) which ensures families can stay together while their child undergoes treatment.

Can you believe something like 40,000 families across Australia are expected to turn to RMHC for help this coming year? (Just to get some perspective, last year, the event raised $4 million which was AWESOME because it helped over 9000 families with accommodation…but still, not enough.)

In addition to being a ‘home away from home’ for thousands of Aussie families, RMHC also provides education programs for kids who’ve missed out on school while they’ve been in hospital.

So how can you catch a glimpse of Naomi in action today? Easy. Head to Haberfield McDonald’s from 1pm. She won’t be flipping burgers but she will be selling silly socks and bottled water!
