Compassion advocate, philanthropist and mama of two, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, is due to release her first children’s book next week and in true Meghan (and Harry) style, she’s donating a bunch of them to groups supporting children in low-income communities.

According to a post on the Archewell site, her foundation with Prince Harry, the Duchess has received the support of the publisher of The Bench to distribute 2,000 copies at no cost to libraries, community centres, schools and nonprofit programs across America.

One of the organisations benefiting from the donation is the Assistance League of Los Angeles where the Duke and Duchess visited twice last year to spend time with preschool children and help plant the school garden.

Archewell has also teamed up with First Book to help make this happen. They’re a nonprofit social enterprise which has delivered over 200 million books and educational resources to programs and schools in America and Canada and is working to ensure all kids have equal access to educational resources.

The Bench, which is about the special relationship between fathers and sons, is officially being released on June 18 but you can pre-order your copy right here.
