She was supposed to be spending the year carrying out her charitable pageant duties, travelling the world and scoring epic modelling contracts.
Instead, Miss England 2019, Bhasha Mukherjee is swapping the tiara for some scrubs so she can return to work as a doctor during the coronavirus pandemic.
The 24-year-old who represented England in the Miss World pageant last year had been taking a break from her junior medical role while she took part in the competition.
She had plans to continue doing overseas charity work until at least August this year.

“I was invited to Africa, to Turkey, then to India, Pakistan and several other Asian countries to be an ambassador for various charity work,” Dr Mukherjee told CNN.
But as the coronavirus crisis worsened in the UK, she knew she had to go back home.
“There’s no better time for me to be Miss England and helping England at a time of need,” she tells CNN.
Working with the British High Commission in Kolkata, Dr Mukherjee was able to find a flight from India to Frankfurt then London this week.
She will spend some time in isolation before returning to her role as a doctor at the Pilgrim Hospital in Lincolnshire.
