HOW NAYA RIVERA’S GLEE FAMILY IS KEEPING HER MEMORY ALIVE THIS CHRISTMAS

Naya Rivera’s Glee family has come up with a beautiful way to honour the late actress this Christmas.

They’re hosting a “Snixxmas” Charity Drive to raise funds for Alexandria House, an organisation Naya volunteered with, that provides safe housing for women and children leaving emergency shelter.

So what is “Snixxmas” exactly?

It was an annual Christmas party Naya held for her friends and family.

“And yeah it was a blast, but it wasn’t all just glitz, glamour and gay apparel,” Darren Kriss who starred as Blaine Anderson in the hit series, says in a YouTube video:

“No, every holiday season, Naya not only managed to find a way to give something great back to her friends and family but something great back to her community,” he adds.

Naya turned her party into a toy drive, where every guest brought a gift to be donated to a child in need.

“We loved Naya, as all of you did. She made a massive impact on this world,” actress Dianna Agron says in the clip, which also features Glee stars Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and Jenna Ushkowitz.

The drive which is accepting donations until December 18, has raised over $33,000 for Alexandria House since it was posted 14 hours ago.

The Snixxmas team is inviting all of us to contribute what we can or consider donating our time.

Before her death earlier this year, Naya had commented on what the charity means to her:

“The connection I feel with [Alexandria House] and the people who reside and work there has been the biggest blessing and made such a huge positive impact on myself and my son. We truly have found a home away from home through the time we spend volunteering there.”

Naya lost her life in July after a boating trip to California’s Lake Piru. Her body was pulled out of the water after a weeks-long search.
