One minute she’s right here pushing that golden buzzer on Australia’s Got Talent, the next, Nicole Scherzinger is back in Hawaii supporting her local community.
The superstar met with protectors of Mauna Kea on the Big Island this week, who are peacefully demonstrating the construction of a giant telescope. The Thirty Metre Telescope project could, according to scientists, lead to huge breakthroughs in astronomy and understanding of life outside Earth. But for native Hawaiians, the land where the telescope is due to be built is sacred and shouldn’t be desecrated.
Nicole turned up with her family and even wrote and performed a song especially for the protectors of the land:
