Roddy Ricch is promising to give back to the families who lost loved ones at the Astroworld Festival.
The rap star who was one of the performers at the Houston show on Friday night where at least eight people died, has announced on Instagram he will be donating his earnings to support the victims’ families.
“Please have the families of those who we lost yesterday reach out to @shawnholiday. I’ll be donating my net compensation to the families of this incident,” he posted in his stories.
According to Houston Fire Chief Sam Pena who spoke at a press conference after the event, “the crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage and that caused some panic and it started causing some injuries.”
It’s been confirmed those who sadly lost their lives were aged between 14 and 27.
Rapper Travis Scott who organised the event, says he is “working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them through this tough time.”
In the video shared to his Instagram stories, he adds that he is working “with everyone to just try to get to the bottom of this” including, the city of Houston, HPD, the Fire Department and more. He also asks his fans who attended the event to reach out to police with any information.
