When it comes to random acts of kindness, Shaquille O’Neal is the master!
The basketball legend who is known for his giant heart (remember when he paid for a stranger’s engagement ring, just because? And bought 10 pairs of new shoes for a teenager who couldn’t find ones that fit?) recently revealed he surprised hundreds of kids at an elementary school in Georgia with new bikes and video consoles.

“I called, you know, my friend [from Nintendo]. Ordered about 1,000 Switches and 1,000 PS5s. I went to Walmart and got bikes. So you know yesterday, at this little elementary school in McDonough, Georgia, kids were crying, kids were happy. And that’s what it’s all about,” he tells fellow kindness king and entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk on The Gary Vee Audio Experience.
Shaq’s gifting was part of his “Shaq-a-Claus” event held in Henry County over the recent Christmas holidays.
According to Shaq’s Foundation, 500 kids also received backpacks, clothing and more.

In his interview with Gary Vee, Shaq explained that his random acts of kindness (or Shaqness, as it reads on his Twitter profile, ha!) is something he picked up from his parents:
“They taught me the value of giving back. They taught me the value of helping those in need.”
