Taj Jackson’s Campaign For Truth About Uncle Michael

“Almost everything the public thinks it knows about Michael Jackson is wrong.”

– TAJ JACKSON

Michael Jackson’s eldest nephew Taj Jackson has started a GoFundMe campaign to create a documentary about his uncle which he says will “tell the true side of his story.” That story being, that the King of Pop is innocent of the child sex claims that are resurfacing against him, that he never settled to avoid a criminal trial, that the media played a huge role in sensationalising stories about him, just for the money and SO. MUCH. MORE.

“This explosive documentary series will conclusively destroy decades of salacious myths which have been told and sold about Michael Jackson ad nauseam,” Taj explains on the campaign page. It will focus on the people who knew him, and those who worked with him every day.

The goal is to raise US $777,000 to fund the project. The money will go towards production, new interviews, conducting investigations to verify new information, marketing and distribution. So far, the page has been up for just a few hours and over $13,000 has been raised from fans around the world.

This is all happening as a new documentary “Leaving Neverland” is about to hit the Sundance Film Festival about two men who say they were sexually abused by the King of Pop as children – even though Michael was acquitted of all charges against him at his 2005 trial. It’s being compared to the recent “Survivng R-Kelly” series but the Jackson family has issued a statement calling it “yet another lurid production in an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in on Michael Jackson.” It does make you wonder how fair this documentary can be given that 1 – Michael isn’t around for it, and 2 – it’s already been through the court process.

And yes, I know what you’re thinking. Why on earth does anyone from the Jackson family need financial support to create their own documentary? Well, Taj explains that bit too. He says “experience has left me mistrustful of external influences…..Michael Jackson’s true history needs to be told without manipulation and restrictions.” He basically doesn’t want to get any people or corporations involved that might want editorial input into the finished product.

I’ll be really interested to see how all of this unfolds and in particular how the media is exposed. One of the reasons I started CelebrityKind is because I am fully aware of the lies written about celebrities – lies that are sold as fact. Lies that are picked up by media outlets, re-reported without being checked, and spread around the world. I’m fully aware that there are no rules when it comes to writing about celebrities and it all comes down to the conscience of each individual journalist, usually under extreme pressure from their boss to come up with something that sells. I’m fully aware that what we read about celebrities are lies upon lies upon lies and the truth rarely makes it out. I’m fully aware that if it does on the odd occasion make it, it’s buried behind pages and pages of other lies.

Good luck Taj.
