Actress, director and writer Zelda Williams is honouring her dad, Robin Williams, on what would’ve been his 69th birthday, by spreading a little kindness.
In a message posted on social media, Zelda explains that she’s marking the occasion by donating $69.69 to “as many homeless shelters as I can.”
So far she’s made donations to The Los Angeles LGBT Center to support LGBT youth, Union Rescue Mission which provides emergency shelter for people in LA, Midnight Mission which also supports people experiencing homelessness and many more.
And it seems Zelda’s kindness has inspired others to do the same! A number of her followers shared stories about how much Robin Williams meant to them and made similar donations to charitable organisations:
I met your dad when I was 12 at a bike race in Austin! My dad also rode that day. I was so excited to meet him, he’s my hero. He signed my favorite jacket and took this picture with me. It’s one of my most treasured memories and I’ll be donating today in his honor. pic.twitter.com/jSc6iAXEbM
