Abbie Chatfield Honours Her Grandma Carmel With $100k Prize Donation to Dementia Support

Former Bachelor Australia contestant. podcaster and all round awesome human Abbie Chatfield has won season seven of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! And she’s donating her $100,000 prize money to Dementia Australia, in honour of her late Grandma Carmel.

“I can’t believe it, me doing this, everything was for Grandma,” Abbie said after being crowned by celebrity chef Miguel Maestre.

“I’m so so happy and really grateful I could do it for her.”

Grandma Carmel passed away in June last year. In a post on her socials at the time, Abbie wrote, ” I am devastated I didn’t get more time.”

Dementia Australia has congratulated Abbie in a comment on Insta, and thanked her for choosing them.

“This amazing gift, as well as those from voters, will help us continue to support people impacted by dementia, their families and carers across Australia.”

The organisation provides education programs and support services for the 472,000 Australians living with dementia and the 1.6 million people involved in their care.
