Hollywood stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have been married for 20 years – and they’re celebrating in the sweetest way!

….but also the story of how they first met and how he almost blew it!
“I’m watching this movie and then I say, ‘wow, who is this girl, she’s incredible!'” Michael says in a video, describing seeing Catherine for the first time as Elena in The Mask of Zorro.
He explains that he asked his assistant to find out if Catherine would be attending the Deauville Film Festival where he eventually asked her out for a “nightcap.”
“I probably made a big mistake but I looked at her and said, ‘I just want to tell you, I’m going to be the father of your children.'”
Yep, he said that. The first time they met!

“And she looked at me and said, ‘I’ve heard a lot about you. I’ve heard a lot about you. I guess it’s all true. Goodnight!'”
And while Michael thought he’d totally blown his chances with his future wife, it turns out they did get in touch again afterwards.
“I’m happy to say, we made contact and the rest is history!”

In a post on Catherine’s Instagram, she writes:
“20 years ago today Michael and I were married. What an amazing magical night that was! And 7304.85 days and nights on, I love you now as I did then (except for the point 85 bit). Thank you for the love and laughter.”
