Beloved Hollywood couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend who were expecting their third child together, have today announced they’ve experienced pregnancy loss.
In a message posted to Chrissy’s Instagram and John’s Twitter, they describe the heartache they are both feeling as they mourn their baby boy.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” they write, sharing black and white photos of themselves in tears.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
The couple reveal that they’d been calling the baby “Jack” while he was in Chrissy’s tummy.
“So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family and he will be, forever. To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few months of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”
They end their message with gratitude for their “wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
I know the photos they shared are so full of sadness.
But if you look closely, they’re also so full of love – the way Chrissy is holding baby Jack. The way John embraces Chrissy. The way he holds her hand while she rests. It’s pure love, isn’t it?
Not long after sharing their news, Chrissy posted this message on Twitter:
Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real.

Chrissy had been regularly sharing updates about her pregnancy. Early last month she was informed she would have to go on bed rest for two weeks and this week she was hospitalised due to excessive bleeding.
