Christina Aguilera is showing her support for Britney Spears.
The superstar who was in the “Mickey Mouse Club” with Britney as a child and rose to fame during the early 2000s just like she did, shared a lengthy statement on Twitter backing Britney as her conservatorship battle continues.
“These past few days, I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going though,” Christina begins, sharing a sweet throwback of the two of them as kids.
“It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.”

“To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly,” she continues.
“Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.”

Christina admitted she does not know everything about Britney’s situation – only what she’s heard through the media – she still believes her childhood friend had “been living without compassion or decency from those in control.”
She ends her message by wishing Britney complete freedom and happiness:
“To a woman who has worked under condition and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you, she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life. My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”
Christina is the latest celebrity to show her support for Britney. Earlier, Justin Timberlake, Halsey, Mariah Carey and more also shared messages of love as well as Britney’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
