Delta Goodrem is sharing some sweet personal news – she’s engaged!
The Aussie music icon has revealed on Instagram that her long-time partner, musician Matthew Copley (who is also her guitarist FYI) popped the question.
“My best friend asked me to marry him,” she captioned a sunset pic of the two of them embracing on holidays in Malta.
Matthew shared the same photo on his Insta page, confirming “she said yes !!”

Delta also posted a video of the proposal – and yep, it’s pretty romantic! We’re talking candles, rose petals and a string quartet to set the mood. In the clip, we get a brief glimpse of her sparkling engagement ring too.

Delta and Matthew have been dating since at least 2017 but have kept their relationship out of the spotlight until more recently. In a 2018 interview with InStyle Australia, the singer said she had made the decision not to comment on her personal life in general but she did share that she and Matthew met through music:
“It’s incredible to be on stage with him because he’s so talented. We really are a team. He’s my best friend, he’s kind and just a beautiful human being.”
Earlier this month, Delta shared a loving birthday message for him on social media:
“Another year around the sun!! On tour, on your birthday! 🎶❤️ happy birthday to my best friend and favourite human in the whole wide world. My 🌏 @matthew.copley 🎉 i love you!”
The couple has had an epic year together in Europe for Delta’s “Hearts on the Run” tour, doing 14 cities including Prague, London, Paris, Berlin and more.
