Don’t be fooled by the tabloids. They like to make out that women hate each other and it’s all a big competition. It isn’t.
When you look closely, we are cheering each other on, lifting each other up and praising each other all the time.
This week, actress Gabrielle Union-Wade took a moment to highlight fellow star Heather Headley as her #WCW (or Woman Crush Wednesday).
“Not only does this woman have a voice of an angel, but she has the accolades to back it up. This Tony AND Grammy award winner is truly a joy to watch,” Gab begins her message.

“Heather Headley is a Broadway QUEEN! From “Dream Girls”, “The Colour Purple” to “Lion King” where she really brought that extra sparkle and brought Nala’s character to life for everyone to enjoy.”
Gabrielle goes on to share one of her favourite memories with Heather which took place on the set of “Breakin’ All the Rules”:
“She sang live on stage, we all stopped dead in our tracks and were stunned by her talent.”
Heather is about to return to Broadway to take part in “Into The Woods” which opens next month and also stars as Helen Decatur in Netflix’s “Sweet Magnolias” which is filming Season 3.
“Can’t wait until that comes out,” Gab ends her message. “I wish Heather nothing but success and happiness. Let us lift her up in the light of goodness and hold her there.”
Oh and yes, Heather saw Gab’s beautiful message and shared an equally beautiful response on Twitter:
“Lady… I’m so humbled and flattered and blessed and encouraged and lifted and spurred on by you today. Thank you so much.”
Yeah, forget the tabloids. How good is the sisterhood?
