James Corden has revealed the reason why he’s decided to leave The Late Late Show – and it’s a beautiful one.
Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, the comedian and TV host explained that it has nothing to do with him not enjoying his work (as some tabloids had been claiming) and everything to do with the love he has for his family:
“I’ll never work in a better environment than the one I work in now… Nothing about leaving the show was to do with not enjoying it,” he begins.
“It became a very easy decision because I always knew it was an adventure and I never, ever considered it to be the final destination.”
He goes on to explain how he was once working on a Sunday at 6 a.m. when his son Max, who was 10 at the time, asked him if he was free: “His face just kind of dropped,” James explains of Max’s reaction.
