The cast of John Wick: Chapter 4 have honoured late costar, Lance Reddick, at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles.

Walking the red carpet, Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Rina Sawayama, Laurence Fishburne and more wore royal blue ribbons on their outfits in memory of Lance. Guests attending the event were also given a ribbon to wear.

Lance, who portrayed Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York City, passed away suddenly last week, aged 60. His representative, Mia Hansen, confirmed the sad news to a number of media outlets, sharing that he passed from “natural causes” at his home in L.A.

Speaking to People on the red carpet, Keanu shared some kind words about his late friend: “We worked together on four films over ten years. He was a remarkable artist and a special person with grace and dignity.”

Laurence Fishburne teared up while speaking of Lance to The Hollywood Reporter: “We love Lance. We miss Lance. He’s the heart of these movies in many ways. We lost our brother.”

Earlier, Keanu had shared a joint statement with the film’s director, Chad Stahelski, where they revealed they would be dedicating this latest film to Lance:

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick. He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife, Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”

Lance had been doing interviews for the latest film in the John Wick franchise before his death. He’d also just finished filming the part of Zeus for the upcoming ‘Percy Jackson’ series.
