Celebrities are speaking out in support of Britney Spears after she addressed a Los Angeles court today asking for an end to her conservatorship which has controlled her career, finances and personal life for the last 13 years.
Among those showing their love is ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake who shared a message to Twitter asking Britney’s family and the courts to “make this right.”
“After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was, what’s happening to her is just not right. No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body. No one should EVER be held against their will..or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.”
He adds, “Jess and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”
Fellow superstar Mariah Carey also took to Twitter with a brief message: “We love you Britney!! Stay strong.”

As did Brandy who shared, “sending all my love and support to Britney Spears and her fans.”
Halsey posted a more blunt message:
“Bless Britney and I hope with my whole heart she is awarded freedom from this abusive system. She deserves it more than anything. I admire her courage speaking up for herself today. Additionally, f*** anyone who thinks they have the authority as an institution or individual to control a person’s reproductive health.”
Actress Rose McGowan shared a passionate video message on Instagram urging Britney to keep fighting:
“This is a message for Britney Spears and any other human who is being controlled by greed and evil. Fight on Britney. We are with you, we hear you. We have heard you. I know the cost of control and you’ve been controlled since zero. Fight on. There is freedom on the other side. I pray this judge gives you your life back and I’m brutally angry that it has to be this way, that someone has to RULE for you to get your life back. Can you imagine what that’s like any of you out there? Of course she’s angry! Righteous anger changes the world. Keep fighting. We’re with you.”

Britney’s case isn’t over yet. A petition to have the conservatorship terminated still needs to be filed with the court and the judge can then make a decision.
