The service began with Jason Clark & The Tenessee Mass Choir who performed “Amazing Grace”. Singers Alanis Morisette, Billy Corgan and Axl Rose also took to the stage.
Words of love were shared by Lisa Marie’s good friend Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York who revealed that the two of them called each other “sissy” whilst Ben Smith-Petersen, Lisa Marie’s son-in-law read words on behalf of his wife, Riley Kough:
“I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters. Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humous, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart, my brother is a product of your heart.”
It had not been made public until now that Riley and Ben were parents.
Lisa Marie, who passed away at the age of 54 on January 12, is survived by her daughters, actress Riley and her 14-year-old twins Finley and Harper Lockwood.
