It’s a sad day for the Wahlberg family who’ve announced the passing of their matriarch, Alma.
Details of her death haven’t been released but her famous children have posted tributes on social media.
Among them, Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg who posted a pic of his late mum on Instagram with the words “My angel. Rest in peace.”

“My mom Alma’s joy for life, love and people – combined with a pride in her humble beginnings and refusal to forget where she came from – undoubtedly shaped me into the man that I am. I’ve often said, if you like anything about me, I got it from Alma. I say it because it’s true,” he continues.
“She was without a doubt, the most loving human being I’ve ever known.”

He describes her as “the epitome of grace” and someone “who made the best of times in the worst of times.”
“It’s a time to rest peacefully, Mom. I love you, miss you, thank you and celebrate you, today and always.”
Donnie often posted about his mum on social media and in July last year, updated fans on her health writing that she “didn’t remember much and was often confused but somehow she was still Alma.”
Donnie’s wife, Jenny McCarthy, also paid her respects on Twitter, calling Alma “the world’s greatest mother-in-law.”
Alma, who had nine children and often featured in the Wahlberg family’s reality show, The Wahlburgers, was aged 78.
