Naya Rivera’s friends and family are remembering the late actress on what would’ve been her 34th birthday – and their messages are full of nothing but love, and a few jokes.
Fellow Glee actress Amber Riley who played Mercedes Jones in the series was among the first to celebrate Naya’s “heavenly birthday” sharing a tribute on Instagram:
“A little update Naya, earth is REALLY ghetto now!!! Still, I miss you so very much and I wish you were here,” Amber wrote sharing a black and white photo of herself singing on stage with a large photo of Naya as the backdrop.

“There hasn’t been a day where you don’t cross my mind, and when you do, I take a moment of silence to remember all the beautiful moments we got to spend together,” she continues adding that she’s celebrating with a glass of wine and a “fancy charcuterie” board.

Heather Morris who played Naya’s onscreen girlfriend Brittany S Pierce, also shared some words:
“I can’t write a sappy monologue because it’s just too hard. But I love you and I can’t describe how much I miss you.”

Kevin McHale who played Artie Abrams on the show shared a throwback to one of Naya’s parties, captioning it: “Happy birthday. No one else could get us to be this messy in public.”

And Naya’s ex partner Ryan Dorsey shared a photo of the pair with their son Josie.

Naya tragically lost her life in July last year, after a boating trip to Lake Piru in Ventura County, California. Her body was pulled from the waters after a 5-day search.
